What to expect

Kolejkowo Wroclaw is a model layout, not a museum of exhibits: Lower Silesia in miniature, with trains running through it, built on the first floor of Sky Tower, the tallest building in Wroclaw.

The exhibition covers 1000 m2. Nineteen trains with 60 wagons run on 720 m of track, and among 347 buildings, including miniatures of real buildings from Lower Silesia, stand 215 cars and 6375 figurines of people and animals.

Night falls over the model and day returns, a storm with rain passes over it, and the museum also highlights its road-traffic scenes. The museum also shows a new interactive section: almost 45 m2 of the city with a fire-brigade action, the Teatr Lalek (Puppet Theatre) and the Renoma department store.

Visitors rate Kolejkowo very highly: on Google Maps it has 4.8 out of 5 from 20 940 reviews, and on Tripadvisor 4.7 out of 5 from 519 reviews and 4th place among 479 things to do in Wroclaw (read on 25 October 2026).

Who it suits: above all families, including those with the youngest children. The museum welcomes even babies of a few months, there are platforms at the model for smaller children, and a pram can be taken inside and fits without trouble. It is also a good fit for anyone curious about model railways, because the whole thing is one moving layout of tracks, trains and small towns.

Who should skip it: anyone looking for railway history and real rolling stock, because what you see here is a miniature, not a collection. A foreign visitor hoping for a guide in their own language will also be disappointed: guides lead tours only in Polish, although the QR codes at the exhibits have descriptions in English, German, Ukrainian, Czech and Spanish. You cannot come in with an animal, not even the smallest.

How long: the museum gives about an hour and a half and sets no time limit on the visit; it usually takes between an hour and a half and two hours. Allow two. If on the same day you are going one floor up to the LEGO Exhibition in Sky Tower , where 150 brick models are on show and an average visit takes about 2 hours, plan half a day for this building.

Tips

  • Buy your ticket online. At the ticket office the price is standard ticket 55 PLN (about 13 EUR), reduced 45 PLN (about 10 EUR); online tickets for individual visitors are noticeably cheaper (the museum lists their prices as “from” prices), and with a ticket bought online you skip the queue at the ticket office.
  • A voucher as a gift. A voucher ticket is valid for three months and costs less than a ticket bought at the ticket office; the exact prices are in the museum’s price list.
  • Who gets a reduced ticket. Reduced tickets are available to children aged 3 and over, people up to 26 with an ID, pensioners, disability pensioners, and people with disabilities and their carers; younger children do not need a ticket. The Karta Dużej Rodziny (Large Family Card) and other family cards give no discount here.
  • By train at the weekend. At weekends Koleje Dolnośląskie (Lower Silesian Railways) run the “Powrót Gratis” (free return) offer, a return ticket for the price of a single. It is a good idea for a trip to Kolejkowo from outside Wroclaw, and by train at that.
  • Camera ready. Photography and filming are welcome here, so you can film the night and the storm over the model without worry.
  • A figurine of you. In the Miniaturyzacja (miniaturisation) offer you are scanned, and the scan is turned into a figurine of you; you choose the Wroclaw location, the date and the time of the scan, and the figurine is ready within two weeks.
  • Wheelchairs and the cloakroom. The museum is accessible to wheelchair users and offers an accessibility guide for download; Google Maps also lists wheelchair spaces, an accessible car park, toilet and entrance. You pay nothing for the cloakroom or the toilets.
  • School groups. Schools and preschools, in groups of at least 15 people, visit with a guide on one of four routes: historical, nature, safety or standard. The exhibition itself then takes about an hour, and modelling workshops add about 50 minutes.

Getting there

  • Address: ul. Powstańców Śląskich 95, 53-332 Wrocław, first floor of the Sky Tower building.
  • Tram: the nearest stop is “Wielka”, about 91 m in a straight line from Sky Tower. According to the timetable in the open data of Wroclaw City Hall (Urząd Miejski Wrocławia), on weekdays it is served regularly by trams 2, 6, 7, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23 and 24, and at night by buses 247 and 257.
  • Bus: lines A and 125 stop at “Pl. Hirszfelda”, about 205 m in a straight line. Line 125 also stops at “Komandorska” (about 346 m), and line 144 at “Zielińskiego” (about 360 m).
  • By car: there is a paid underground car park in the building. A free-of-charge space nearby is hard to find on weekdays in the middle of the day, so it is better to drive straight into the building’s car park.

Background

The model you see on the first floor of Sky Tower is not the first Kolejkowo in Wroclaw: that one started on 26 January 2015 at Dworzec Świebodzki (Świebodzki Station). According to the company’s president, quoted by “Gazeta Wrocławska”, more than 1.5 million people visited it over ten years.

“Gazeta Wrocławska” wrote about the move to Sky Tower in March 2020, when the opening was planned for December. The new model was built during the pandemic, and according to the Wroclaw edition of “Gazeta Wyborcza” it could be seen in its new home from 1 June 2021.

At Sky Tower, platforms for children were installed at the model, along with facilities for people with disabilities, a souvenir shop, and lecture and workshop rooms. The model itself keeps growing: a fire-brigade action and city icons were added recently.
