Free admission days at Krakow museums work in a few different ways. Most often it is a fixed weekday: the largest group lets you in free on Tuesday , including most branches of the National Museum, followed by Wednesday and Monday , while a handful of venues pick Thursday or Sunday . No museum in the city itself has a fixed free Friday . Less often, free entry falls on a few set dates in the year or once a month, such as the last Saturday of the month. Some smaller museums, mostly university and church collections, charge nothing at all. A free day does not always cover the whole museum: it can be limited to selected exhibitions or to a capped pool of passes, so check the museum’s profile before you go.
Many museums in Krakow and Małopolska offer one weekday with free admission. Tuesday is the most generous day, when the branches of the National Museum in Krakow, among others, can be visited for free. The rules differ from place to place: the free Monday at Wawel Royal Castle covers selected exhibitions only and the pool of free passes is limited - always check the museum’s own page for details. Below you will find the breakdown by day of the week, museums that are always free, and special free dates. For the rules, exceptions and catches (capped ticket pools, paid temporary exhibitions, advance bookings), see the guide to free museum entry in Krakow . See also museum opening hours by day of the week and the full list of Krakow museums .
These museums are free to enter every day - see each profile for details and any booking requirements.
