From 5 October 2026 to 26 February 2027 it is on show at Krzysztofory Palace, and according to the museum admission is free.
Museum of Krakow on the exhibition (our translation; the museum publishes this text in Polish only):
“Under a Knitted Sky” is a project made 100% by hand by women and men who knit and who take an active part in the life and running of the “Krakow knitters” group. In 2025 we started a campaign that brought together more than 100 interested people, united by one goal - to make enough 50 cm by 50 cm crochet squares to build a shade against the sun, ideally on the streets of Krakow. We wanted to show that a community like ours can together create something that serves not only our own community but society as a whole. We drew our inspiration from the Spanish town of Alhaurín de la Torre, Málaga, where knitters joined forces to make a shade against the sun, lowering the temperature in the streets by 5 degrees Celsius.

Yiannis Kranidiotis. The exhibition aligns with the latest research on the material culture of the Polish People’s Republic (PRL) and helps explain why Cepelia - an institution of enormous social and cultural influence - continues to provoke mixed emotions even among museum professionals and specialists.
