What to expect

The DeJa Vu Museum is a museum of illusions in Gdansk, at Długie Ogrody 18. You do not look at collections in display cases here: you test, rather, how easily your own eyes can be fooled. The museum has been open since 2021, and in 2026 it enlarged its exhibition and added new attractions.

The exhibition is made up of interactive, physical, optical and digital exhibits and of many themed rooms. The museum promises to fool your eyes more than 100 times. Some rooms are lined entirely with mirrors, floor included, and you enter them without shoes.

On Google Maps the museum has 4.6 out of 5 from 7,962 reviews (read on 25 October 2026). With so many ratings, the score says that most visitors rate their visit highly.

Who it is for: families with children, school groups and adults who enjoy puzzles for the eye. As the museum puts it: “A museum of illusions for all generations”. Children up to the age of 14 enter only with an accompanying adult, and schools have a separate line in the price list.

Skip it if you are looking for the history of Gdansk or a collection of old objects. There are no collections here in the museum sense, only exhibits to try out for yourself and themed rooms.

Allow about an hour. More than 100 illusions and many themed rooms make for roughly an hour’s visit. With children who want to try every exhibit, add half an hour.

Tips

  • Buy your ticket at the desk. A ticket bought at the museum’s desk admits you at any time, while an online ticket admits you only on the hour and carries an added commission for payment through Przelewy24. The museum assures visitors that a ticket can always be bought on the spot, without a reservation.
  • Reduced tickets for children and students. Prices: standard ticket 49 PLN (about 11 EUR), reduced 42 PLN (about 10 EUR); the reduced ticket covers children, pupils and students, and pupils and students are admitted only on showing a valid student ID. The price list has separate lines for children up to 3, for people with disabilities and their carers, and for groups of more than 20 people; the amounts are given in the price list on the museum’s website (linked in the practical box).
  • Shoes that are easy to take off. Shoes are not allowed in the rooms finished entirely in mirrors, with a mirror floor, so you take them off before going in. Footwear you can slip off without undoing the laces will save time at each of these rooms.
  • A small backpack, carried in your hands. Luggage larger than 55 x 35 x 20 cm may not be brought in, and a backpack must be carried in your hands, not on your back. Leave a large bag at your hotel or in the car.
  • When it is open longest. The museum is open every day, and it closes latest on Saturdays and Sundays (on Saturdays 10:00-20:00, on Sundays 10:00-20:00).
  • A limit on visitors in the rooms. The museum limits the number of visitors who may be in the exhibition at the same time and may temporarily stop admitting people once the limit is exceeded. Despite the promise that you can buy a ticket without queuing, allow a few minutes to spare.
  • Groups and schools by phone. Groups of more than 20 people and schools book their visit by phone on +48 797 443 262; for group bookings the museum also gives the address kontakt@dejavumuzeum.pl .
  • Wheelchair access. In its 2022 offer for schools the museum writes that it is adapted for wheelchair users, and its Google Maps card lists a wheelchair-accessible entrance and toilet. The staff on site can give details.
