What to expect
The Warsaw Uprising Museum is one of the most important and most visited museums in Poland, dedicated to the memory of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. The exhibition spans over 3,000 square metres and takes visitors through the 63 days of Warsaw’s fight for freedom.
The visit follows a chronological path through the stages of the uprising – from the decision to fight, through street battles, civilian life in the besieged city, to the capitulation and destruction of Warsaw. The exhibition combines authentic memorabilia, documents, photographs, multimedia installations, and eyewitness accounts. Particularly moving is the scale model of destroyed Warsaw and the 3D film “City of Ruins.”
Allow at least 2-3 hours for the visit. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and educational events.

- Audio guide costs 10 PLN and is highly recommended – it provides a full commentary through the exhibition.
- 3D film “City of Ruins” is included in the ticket price. The screening lasts about 5 minutes and is deeply impressive.
