What to Expect
The Polish Vodka Museum is the only place of its kind in the world — a museum dedicated to 500 years of Polish vodka history, housed in the original rectification building of the 19th-century Koneser vodka distillery. Opened in June 2018, it occupies a space where alcohol was actually produced from 1897 onwards. You can’t get more authentic than that.
Five interactive galleries walk you through centuries of Polish distilling tradition — from medieval recipes, through the interwar legends (this is where Wyborowa and Luksusowa were born), to modern distillation techniques. You’ll see original bottles from different eras, including a sealed 1940s cherry vodka bottle by J.A. Baczewski. There’s also an interactive station where you can compose your own tincture recipe.
But let’s be honest — most people come for the tasting. And rightly so. Every ticket includes a guided tour and a vodka tasting session (3 varieties with the Basic ticket, 4 with Premium). The Koneser ticket at 150 PLN adds a cocktail from the secret menu at the 3/4 bar. The guides are knowledgeable and genuinely funny — TripAdvisor agrees unanimously (4.6/5, over 340 reviews, #12 among Warsaw attractions).
Tips
- Buy tickets online at least 24 hours in advance — you’ll save 10 PLN versus the door price. Sessions are capped at 25 people, and popular slots sell out fast.
- Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Bring valid ID — the museum requires age verification (18+).
- Basic tickets (70 PLN) are not available on Fridays and Saturdays — those days offer Premium (80 PLN) and Koneser (150 PLN) only.
- Senior discount (60+): 63 PLN (Basic) or 72 PLN (Premium), Tuesday through Thursday only.
- Workshops are a separate attraction — cocktail-making (109 PLN), homemade infusions (139 PLN), foodpairing (139-179 PLN). Worth it if you have the time and budget.
- Photos are fine, filming requires prior approval. The backlit bottle galleries are the most photogenic spots.
- Stay in Koneser after your visit — Setki Powodow restaurant, the 3/4 cocktail bar, the Alembik spirits shop. The whole complex deserves a wander.

Background
The story of this place begins in 1895, when construction started on a complex of neo-Gothic buildings between Zabkowska, Nieporecka, Bialostocka, and Markowska streets in the Praga district. By 1897 the rectification plant — the heart of production — was complete. Before World War I, the factory produced an astonishing 150 types of vodka and liqueur.
During the interwar period, this is where the recipes for Poland’s most legendary brands were created: Wyborowa (1927) and Luksusowa (1928). The Koneser distillery became one of the most important spirits factories in Poland.
Production continued until 2007, when the plant finally closed. Over the next decade, the complex underwent a comprehensive transformation — from vodka factory to a multi-use Praga destination. On June 12, 2018, the Polish Vodka Museum opened in the historic rectification building. A space that produced alcohol for over a century now tells its story.
