The May Coup and the Sanacja: A Caricaturist's Sharp Eye

This exhibition looks at the May Coup of 1926 and the years of Sanacja rule through the work of two caricaturists: Gustaw Rogalski (1887-1939) and Zdzisław Czermański (1900-1970). Their satirical drawings were a direct, often merciless commentary on the state of the country and its leading political figures. The material captures the political mood of the era more vividly than most textbooks.

The exhibition runs until 30 September 2026 at the museum’s main building at al. Solidarności 62. It opened on 20 May 2026.
