What to expect

Kolejkowo is a miniature world at 1:25 scale, housed in Warsaw Towers at ul. Sienna 39. Over 5,000 figurines, 155 buildings, 202 cars, 68 wagons, 17 trains running on working tracks, a moving day-night cycle with storm effects, lighting and sound. This is not a traditional museum – it is an interactive model where everything moves.

The model depicts Polish landscapes: mountains, forests, cities, bridges, tunnels. Trains run non-stop on 580 metres of track. Every few minutes “night falls” – building lights turn on, street lamps glow, train headlights pierce the dark. Children can press buttons at various scenes to trigger animations: a freight train departs, firefighters extinguish a blaze, a boat sails along the river. There is also an observation game.

A visit takes about an hour. For small children (ages 2+) this is a good length – long enough to see everything, not so long they get bored. Older children and adults appreciate the details – miniature everyday scenes, hidden jokes, precision of the models.

Kolejkowo is a chain – there are also locations in Wroclaw, Gliwice and Modelarnia Jelenia Gora. The Warsaw one is among the larger locations.

Tips

• Location: Warsaw Towers, ul. Sienna 39 (entrances from Sienna and Zlota streets).
• Best time: Weekday afternoons – mornings often have school trips. Weekends are crowded.
• Strollers welcome. The space is accessible, lift available.
• Tickets: Box office: 55 PLN (regular) / 45 PLN (reduced). Online: prices may be lower, check kolejkowo.pl.
• Nearby: PKiN, MSN, Varso Tower observation deck, NBP Money Centre (10 minutes on foot).

How to get there

Train: Warsaw Central Station – 500 m. Warszawa Srodmiescie / Srodmiescie WKD – 650 m.

Metro: Rondo ONZ (M2, red line) – 300 m. Centrum (M1, blue line) – 650 m.

Tram/bus: Stops around Central Station, 5-10 minutes walk.

Car: Street parking, Zlote Tarasy car park 100 m, PKiN car park 150 m.

Nearby museums

NBP Money Centre (10 min walk) and National Museum (20 min walk). Kolejkowo + Money Centre is a good half-day combo with kids – miniatures as a warm-up, then real gold bars.
