Ice Cream Museum

Start with what this place is not: there are no display cases, no collection and no wandering around at your own pace. The Ice Cream Museum on Ostroroga street in Wola runs on showtimes. You enter at a booked slot, in a group of 15 to 25 people, and a guide walks you through for 80 to 90 minutes. It opened in August 2026 and the operator says on its own site that it is staying open year-round. Adult ticket 78 PLN (€18), child ticket 65 PLN (€15), free for children under four.

It is a family tasting attraction, not an exhibition. If you want objects and labels, you will be disappointed. If you want a Saturday afternoon where everyone eats something, makes something with their own hands and leaves with a souvenir, this delivers exactly that.

What to expect

There is one programme and everybody gets it. The guide moves the group from zone to zone, and every tasting, demonstration and creative workshop is covered by the ticket - nothing is upsold mid-tour.

The Italian gelato demonstration is the centrepiece: milk, sugar and fruit, churned in small batches minutes before you taste it. Then Thai rolled ice cream made on a frozen plate, soft serve from a machine where you pull the lever and decide your own portion size, and an ice cream burger - a soft bun filled with gelato, assembled in front of the group.

Three things fill the rest of the time. A film on the history of ice cream, from chilling sweets with snow thousands of years ago to modern recipes. A quiz that children and adults answer together. And a workshop where every visitor presses their own museum-logo pin badge and takes it home. There is a photo zone too - the museum actively encourages photos and video.

Two extras cost more and run after the main tour ends: a fried ice cream workshop and a spaghetti ice cream workshop.

Tips

• Booking a time slot is mandatory. That includes tickets bought at the door. Without a reserved date and hour you are not getting in.
• Self-guided visits do not exist here. Entry is with a guide, in an organised group, at a set time.
• In September the museum is closed Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday it opens only at 14:00; a full day from 10:00 is Saturday and Sunday only.
• October hours are due to be published by 10 September 2026. Check the museum’s site before an October visit.
• Online tickets can be cheaper. Until 10 September 2026 inclusive there is a 12 percent online discount: 68 PLN (€16) instead of 78, and 57 PLN (€13) instead of 65.
• Tickets are non-refundable, but you can move your slot free of charge by contacting the museum.
• Arrive 10-15 minutes early and arrive hungry. The tastings come one after another.
• Declare allergies to staff before the tour starts. Every tasting is optional and staff will tell you which ones contain allergens.
• Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Under four, entry is free.
• No outside food, no pets. The food rule is waived for birthday parties, for which the museum has a separate room.
• There is a cloakroom and toilets on site, and card payment is accepted.
• Groups of 15 or more get their own pricing and a dedicated guide - useful for schools and companies.

Getting there

Bus: the Ostroroga stop is about 100 metres from the door. This is the shortest approach.

Tram: Plac Pole Elekcyjne (about 300 metres) and Wawrzyszewska (about 350 metres).

Metro: Młynów station on the M2 line, roughly 1.2 km to the south - about a 15-minute walk. Wola is the district immediately west of the city centre.

Car: the museum says there is parking nearby but does not run its own. On a weekend slot, assume you will circle for a while.
