Practical tips

  1. Arrive early. Free admission days tend to be crowded. Aim to be there 15-30 minutes before opening.
  2. Check hours before your visit. Opening hours may change seasonally and on public holidays.
  3. Not everything is free. Free admission usually covers the permanent exhibition, not temporary exhibitions or special events.
  4. Audio guides are usually paid separately (5-10 PLN) even on free days.
  5. Plan your route. Thursday is the best day – 4 museums are free. You can start at POLIN, then walk to the Old Town (Museum of Warsaw) or head to Wilanow.
